SparkGPT vs Smartsupp (2026): Pay Per AI Session or Pay Per Sale?
The short answer: Smartsupp is a live chat and messaging inbox with an optional AI shopping assistant called Mira AI. As of October 2026, its human chat plans run from free to $117 per month (or $83 billed yearly) for five operators, and Mira AI is a separate add on billed per AI conversation: $16 per 100 conversations a month on a yearly plan, with each unique chat session counted once. SparkGPT is an AI sales agent for any website that costs $2.99 per month plus 5% of attributed sales, counted when an order follows a chat within 24 hours, with unlimited conversations. Smartsupp's AI bill follows how many sessions Mira answers. SparkGPT's bill follows the sales the agent is credited with.
We checked Smartsupp's pricing page, its Mira AI help center FAQ, its reporting page, its Shopify App Store listing and its WordPress.org plugin page on October 31, 2026. Everything we say about Smartsupp below is as of October 2026.
What Smartsupp does well
Smartsupp has been around since 2013, is based in Brno in Czechia, and says it serves more than 100,000 customers. A fair comparison starts with what it does well.
Human chat is cheap and unlimited. Paid plans price by operator seat, and every paid plan includes unlimited human conversations. If your team answers chats by hand, the cost does not climb with volume.
One inbox for several channels. Website chat, WhatsApp, Messenger and email arrive in the same place, even on the Free plan for chat, WhatsApp and Messenger.
Mira AI understands a catalog. Mira reads a product feed or your website pages, supports up to 30,000 products on the base plan, and shows product recommendations to shoppers. Smartsupp describes it as providing "curated shopping guidance and recommendations."
It fits European stores. Smartsupp lists integrations with Shopify, WordPress, PrestaShop, Magento, ePages and Shoptet, the chat widget supports many European languages, and third party reviews note that data is stored in the EU.
Reviewers like it. The WordPress.org plugin shows more than 20,000 active installations and 4.7 out of 5 from 132 reviews. eesel's October 2026 review reports 4.7 from 1,081 reviews on G2. The Shopify App Store listing, launched on October 5, 2021, is thinner, at 2.3 from 4 reviews.
Smartsupp pricing in October 2026
Smartsupp sells two things that you pay for separately: seats for human chat, and conversations for Mira AI.
Customer Service plans (human chat)
| Plan | Monthly billing | Yearly billing, per month | Operators | Human conversations |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 1 | 25 per month |
| Solo | $24 | $17 | 1 | Unlimited |
| Plus | $35 | $25 | 3 | Unlimited |
| Expert | $117 | $83 | 5, more can be added | Unlimited |
| Ultimate | From $280 | From $280 | Custom | Custom |
The monthly prices come from Smartsupp's Shopify App Store listing, and the yearly prices from its own pricing page. Prices exclude VAT. Paid plans include a 14 day free trial with no credit card. Solo, Plus and Expert also include 50, 250 and 500 "AI reply assists" a month, which help human operators draft answers. Those are not Mira AI.
Mira AI (the AI shopping assistant)
| Mira AI conversations per month | Yearly billing, per month | Monthly billing |
|---|---|---|
| 100 | $16 | $20 |
| 500 | $80 | $100 |
| 1,000 | $160 | $200 |
| 2,500 | $400 | $500 |
| 5,000 | $800 | $1,000 |
The yearly price of $16 per 100 conversations is on Smartsupp's pricing page, which gives 400 conversations for $64 a month as its example. The monthly column comes from eesel's Smartsupp pricing review published on October 22, 2026, which lists $20 per 100. Above 5,000 conversations, or for several websites, Smartsupp quotes a custom price. Mira can run with or without a chat plan, and new accounts get 10 free conversations plus 25 more after onboarding.
The real difference: what triggers a charge
Smartsupp charges for AI sessions. Its pricing page says "each unique chat session counts as one conversation," and its FAQ adds that returning visitors' sessions are counted separately. The help center defines a conversation as an interaction where a visitor asks a question and Mira responds. So a shopper who asks about sizing on Monday, comes back on Wednesday to compare two colors and returns on Friday to ask about delivery is three Mira conversations, whether or not they ever buy.
That rule is clear and easy to forecast, and it is kinder than billing per reply: a long conversation in one session still counts once. The catch is that the bill measures attention, not results. At $0.16 to $0.20 per session, a month with 1,000 Mira conversations costs $160 to $200 whether those chats produced five orders or fifty.
SparkGPT charges for attributed sales. When a visitor chats with the SparkGPT agent, the session is tagged. If that visitor places an order within 24 hours, the order is attributed to the agent, listed in the ROI dashboard and charged at 5%. Repeat visits, long product questions and chats that end without an order cost nothing beyond the $2.99 base. Conversations are unlimited.
What happens when the allowance runs out
Smartsupp's help center says Mira "stops replying" once the monthly quota is used, and a red alert appears in the dashboard until the quota resets or you buy more conversations in Billing. Human live chat keeps working, so a staffed team can still answer. For a store that relies on the AI at night or during a holiday rush, that means the busiest days are the ones most likely to hit the cap.
SparkGPT Growth runs on prepaid credits, where 1 credit equals $1. Only attributed sales draw the balance down, so heavy chat traffic on its own never uses it up. If the balance does reach zero, the agent pauses instead of charging you more, and you can top up.
Is attribution a report or a bill?
Smartsupp's reporting page lists Mira statistics such as products recommended, products clicked and visitor satisfaction. For revenue, it points to its Google Analytics 4 integration, which it says lets you track ecommerce revenue attributed to Smartsupp interactions and compare the conversion rate of visitors who chat against those who do not. We did not find a published definition of which orders count or how long after a chat they can happen. That is common in this market, and it is not a criticism of the tool: when attribution only feeds a report, the vendor has little reason to publish a window.
SparkGPT has to publish one, because the same number sets your bill. The 24 hour rule is stated on our pricing page and FAQ, and every attributed order appears in the ROI dashboard so you can check it against your order list. Our guide on how to measure chatbot attributed revenue shows how to audit any vendor's numbers, including orders that email or ads also claim.
Where the AI can talk
Smartsupp's help center says Mira runs only in the website chat widget, not in Messenger, WhatsApp or email. Those channels stay human. eesel's review adds that Mira cannot look up orders. SparkGPT is also a website agent, installed with one line of code, so on channels the two are closer than they first look. The difference is that Smartsupp gives your human team the other channels in the same inbox, and that is worth paying for if you staff them.
The math: when is SparkGPT cheaper?
Compare what you would pay Smartsupp for the AI with what SparkGPT would charge. SparkGPT is cheaper whenever your monthly attributed sales are below (the Smartsupp bill minus $2.99) divided by 0.05.
| Smartsupp setup per month | Bill | SparkGPT is cheaper below this attributed sales level |
|---|---|---|
| Mira 100 conversations, yearly | $16 | $260 |
| Mira 500 conversations, monthly | $100 | $1,940 |
| Plus yearly with Mira 1,000, yearly | $185 | $3,640 |
| Mira 1,000 conversations, monthly | $200 | $3,940 |
| Expert monthly with Mira 2,500, monthly | $617 | $12,280 |
And here is what SparkGPT costs as sales grow:
| Attributed sales in a month | SparkGPT bill |
|---|---|
| $0 | $2.99 |
| $1,000 | $52.99 |
| $4,000 | $202.99 |
| $10,000 | $502.99 |
The honest reading: if you only need a small Mira allowance and the AI is credited with more than a few hundred dollars a month, 100 conversations at $16 costs less than 5%. If Mira answers many sessions that do not turn into orders, such as browsing questions, repeat visits and holiday traffic, SparkGPT costs less, because chats that do not sell add nothing to the bill. A month with no attributed sales costs $2.99, or $35.88 over a year.

Which one should you pick?
Pick Smartsupp if your team answers chats by hand and wants one inbox for website chat, WhatsApp, Messenger and email, you value EU data storage and European language support, and you only need a modest amount of AI help on the website.
Pick SparkGPT if you want the AI to work as a salesperson on your site without a person behind it, you want the bill tied to sales rather than sessions, your traffic swings with seasons or ads, or you want an attribution rule you can check order by order because it decides what you pay. SparkGPT installs on any site with one line of code:

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Smartsupp cost in 2026?
As of October 2026, Smartsupp's human chat plans are Free (1 operator, 25 conversations a month), Solo at $24 a month or $17 billed yearly, Plus at $35 or $25, Expert at $117 or $83 for five operators, and Ultimate from $280. Prices exclude VAT. Mira AI is billed separately, from $16 per 100 AI conversations a month on a yearly plan.
How is Mira AI billed?
Per conversation, in blocks of 100. Smartsupp counts each unique chat session that Mira responds to as one conversation, and a returning visitor's new session counts again. On a yearly plan that is $16 per 100 conversations a month, and third party research lists $20 per 100 on monthly billing. Plans go up to 5,000 conversations, with custom pricing above that.
What happens when Mira AI runs out of conversations?
Smartsupp's help center says Mira stops replying and a red alert appears in the dashboard until the quota resets or you buy extra conversations in Billing. Human live chat keeps working, so operators can still answer visitors.
Does Smartsupp track sales from chat?
Smartsupp's own Mira statistics show products recommended and products clicked. For revenue, Smartsupp points to its Google Analytics 4 integration, which it says tracks ecommerce revenue attributed to chat interactions. We did not find a published attribution window, and attributed revenue does not affect the Smartsupp bill.
What attribution window does SparkGPT use?
24 hours. When a visitor chats with the SparkGPT agent, the session is tagged, and an order placed within 24 hours of that chat is attributed to the agent, listed in the ROI dashboard and charged at 5%. Orders outside that window, or from visitors who never chatted, are not charged.
Is SparkGPT cheaper than Smartsupp?
It depends on how much AI you use and how much it sells. SparkGPT is cheaper whenever monthly attributed sales are below your Smartsupp AI bill minus $2.99, divided by 0.05. Against 1,000 Mira conversations on monthly billing at $200, that line is $3,940 in attributed sales. In a month with no attributed sales, SparkGPT costs $2.99.
