SparkGPT vs Rep AI (2026): Pay Per Visitor or Pay Per Sale?

The short answer: Rep AI is a Shopify AI agent for sales and support that is billed on your store's monthly visitors. As of October 2026, its Shopify App Store plans run from a free Pay as you Grow plan to $368 per month for up to 50,000 visitors, with extra traffic at $12 per 1,000 visitors, whether or not those visitors ever open the chat. SparkGPT is an AI sales agent for any website that costs $2.99 per month plus 5% of attributed sales, counted when an order follows a chat within 24 hours, with unlimited conversations. Rep AI's bill follows your traffic. SparkGPT's bill follows the sales the agent is credited with.

We checked Rep AI's homepage, pricing page, help center articles on attribution and billing, and its Shopify App Store listing on October 30, 2026. Everything we say about Rep AI below is as of October 2026.

What Rep AI does well

Rep AI is one of the more established sales agents on Shopify, and a fair comparison starts with what it does well.

It is built to sell. Its homepage headline reads "AI for ecommerce, one brain powering sales and support across every channel." It detects buying intent and starts proactive conversations, and the App Store listing covers product recommendations, cart recovery, cross sell and upsell offers, tiered discounts and COD verification.

It covers sales and support in one place. Rep AI sells a Sales agent, a Support agent and an AI Concierge that combines both. The homepage also lists a helpdesk and an insights layer.

It reaches many channels. Website chat is the core, and Rep AI also lists email, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, with its omnichannel product marked as beta.

It connects to a lot of tools. The homepage names Shopify, Klaviyo, WooCommerce, Salesforce and Gorgias among more than 175 native integrations.

It has a track record. The Shopify app, published by Rep AI Technologies Inc., launched on April 18, 2022 and shows 4.5 out of 5 from 123 reviews.

It publishes a strict attribution rule. We come back to this below, because it is the most interesting part of the comparison.

Rep AI pricing in October 2026

Rep AI's own pricing page loads its plan table with scripts, so the clearest first party price list is the Shopify App Store listing, which is also where Shopify merchants are billed.

Shopify plan Monthly price Annual price Monthly visitors included Products
Pay as you Grow Free to install Not applicable 100, then $12 per extra 1,000 Up to 100
Starter $104 $995 Up to 10,000 Up to 1,000
Basic $209 $2,006 Up to 25,000 Up to 2,000
Standard $368 $3,528 Up to 50,000 Up to 5,000

All paid plans carry a 14 day free trial and the same $12 charge per extra 1,000 visitors. These App Store plans cover the AI Sales skills. Rep AI's homepage lists the Sales agent "from $99/mo", the AI Concierge from $118 per month, and Support plans that start lower than Sales plans, and it advertises a 14 day free trial, no credit card, no annual commitment and a "5× ROI guarantee."

Two notes from third party research. eesel's Rep AI pricing review, checked on October 22, 2026, lists session tiers on the website up to 500,000 sessions and custom quotes above that, reports that overage is capped at $1,000 per billing period, and says going over your tier does not switch the agent off. It also lists add ons such as AI for email, social and WhatsApp at $0.75 per AI resolved conversation. We could not confirm the cap on Rep AI's own pages, so ask for it in writing.

The 5× ROI guarantee is worth asking about too. The current pricing page names it without terms. An older Rep AI landing page described it as a "60 day money back guarantee, if you don't get a 5x ROI on your investment," next to plan prices that no longer match the App Store, so treat that wording as historical and get the current terms before you rely on them.

The real difference: what triggers a charge

Rep AI charges for traffic. Its billing unit is the visitor. The help center's billing page shows usage as "your current visitor count out of your plan's total allocation." A visitor counts toward your plan whether they chat, browse for ten seconds or bounce. That makes the bill predictable when traffic is steady, and it is a reasonable fit for a tool that also greets and engages shoppers proactively.

The catch shows up in busy months. Say you are on Starter with 10,000 visitors included. If a promotion brings 18,000 visitors, the 8,000 extra visitors add $96 and the month costs $200. If Black Friday brings 40,000 visitors, the 30,000 extra add $360 and the month costs $464, before any cap. Some of those visitors will buy and some will never touch the chat. The bill rises with the crowd, not with the sales.

SparkGPT charges for attributed sales. When a visitor chats with the SparkGPT agent, the session is tagged. If that visitor places an order within 24 hours, the order is attributed to the agent, listed in the ROI dashboard and charged at 5%. Visitors who never chat cost nothing, and conversations that end without an order cost nothing beyond the $2.99 base. Traffic spikes only cost more if they turn into credited sales.

Same session or 24 hours: two honest attribution rules

Rep AI's help center explains that it credits a sale to its AI only when all three of these are true: the shopper had "a meaningful conversation" of at least 2 messages with the AI, the conversation "did not involve any human support," and "the customer placed an order during the same session as that conversation." Rep AI contrasts this with marketing attribution that "may credit a sale days or even weeks after an ad is viewed."

That is one of the strictest public rules among chat vendors, and we respect it. A same session rule rarely gives the chat credit for an order that an email or ad really drove. The help article does not define how long a session lasts, so it is worth asking.

SparkGPT uses a fixed 24 hour window from the chat, published on our pricing page and FAQ. Here is where the two rules give different answers:

Shopper journey Rep AI same session rule SparkGPT 24 hour rule
Chats about sizing, buys 10 minutes later Credited Credited
Says "hi" only, then buys Not credited (under 2 messages) Credited if the chat happened
Chats at 2 pm, leaves, comes back at 9 pm and buys Usually not credited (new session) Credited
Chats, a human agent takes over, then buys Not credited Credited if within 24 hours
Chats, buys three days later after an email Not credited Not credited

Neither rule is the truth. Same session is more conservative. A 24 hour window catches shoppers who chat on their phone, think it over and buy at home that evening, which is common for products that need a second look. The bigger difference is what the number does. At Rep AI, attributed revenue is a report. At SparkGPT, the same number sets the bill, so a merchant has every reason to check it order by order, and we have every reason to keep the window short and public. Our guide on how to measure chatbot attributed revenue shows how to audit either rule against your order list and remove orders that email or ads also claim.

What happens in a busy month

With Rep AI, extra visitors are billed in blocks, and eesel reports the agent keeps running past your tier. With SparkGPT Growth, billing runs on prepaid credits, where 1 credit equals $1. If the balance runs out, the agent pauses rather than charging you more, and only attributed sales draw the balance down. Our Black Friday guide covers how to plan either kind of bill for peak season.

The math: when is SparkGPT cheaper?

SparkGPT is cheaper than a flat Rep AI plan whenever your monthly attributed sales are below (the Rep AI bill minus $2.99) divided by 0.05.

Rep AI bill per month SparkGPT is cheaper below this attributed sales level
Starter annual, about $83 About $1,599
Starter monthly, $104 $2,020
Basic monthly, $209 $4,120
Standard monthly, $368 $7,300
Starter with 40,000 visitors, $464 $9,220

And here is what SparkGPT costs as sales grow:

Attributed sales in a month SparkGPT bill
$0 $2.99
$2,000 $102.99
$5,000 $252.99
$10,000 $502.99

The honest reading: if the agent is credited with more than about $7,300 a month and you sit comfortably inside the Standard tier, Rep AI's flat price can cost less than 5%. If your traffic is high but chat driven sales are still small or seasonal, SparkGPT costs less, because visitors who never chat add nothing to the bill. A month with no attributed sales costs $2.99, or $35.88 over a full year.

Which one should you pick?

Pick Rep AI if you want one vendor for sales chat, support automation and messaging channels, your traffic is steady and predictable, chat already drives a large share of your sales, and you like a strict same session rule for reporting.

Pick SparkGPT if you want the bill tied to sales rather than traffic, your traffic swings with ads, seasons or launches, you sell outside Shopify, or you want an attribution rule that you can check order by order because it decides what you pay. SparkGPT installs on any site with one line of code:

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Rep AI cost in 2026?

As of October 2026, Rep AI's Shopify App Store plans are Pay as you Grow (free to install with 100 visitors, then $12 per 1,000), Starter at $104 per month for up to 10,000 visitors, Basic at $209 for up to 25,000, and Standard at $368 for up to 50,000. Annual plans save about 20%. Paid plans include a 14 day free trial, and extra visitors cost $12 per 1,000.

Does Rep AI charge per chat or per visitor?

Per visitor. Your plan includes a monthly visitor allowance, and visitors count toward it whether or not they open the chat. Conversations are not the billing unit.

How does Rep AI attribute sales to its AI?

Rep AI's help center says a sale counts when the shopper had a conversation of at least 2 messages with the AI, no human support was involved, and the order was placed in the same session as the conversation. That number appears in its analytics and does not change the bill.

What attribution window does SparkGPT use?

24 hours. When a visitor chats with the SparkGPT agent, the session is tagged, and an order placed within 24 hours of that chat is attributed to the agent, listed in the ROI dashboard and charged at 5%. Orders outside that window, or from visitors who never chatted, are not charged.

Is SparkGPT cheaper than Rep AI?

It depends on your traffic and your sales. SparkGPT is cheaper whenever monthly attributed sales are below your Rep AI bill minus $2.99, divided by 0.05. Against the $104 Starter plan, that line is $2,020 in attributed sales. In a month with no attributed sales, SparkGPT costs $2.99.

Can I try both before paying?

Yes. Rep AI offers a 14 day free trial on paid plans and a free Pay as you Grow plan with 100 visitors. SparkGPT's Free plan lets you build and test an agent on your own site content as many times as you like, with no credit card. You only pay once you go live on Growth.
