AI Sales Agent for Wix and Squarespace Stores (2026): Plans, Setup and Real Costs

First check: does your plan allow a script?

On Wix, any plan that can take payments, starting with Core, can also run a chat script. For most sellers, the chat itself adds no platform cost beyond the plan you already need to sell.

What a sales agent needs from a Wix or Squarespace store

A sales agent answers the questions people ask right before they buy. Does this run small? Will it arrive before the weekend? Is the blue one back in stock? Which of these two is better for a beginner?

On hosted builders, the agent can learn those answers from your public pages: product descriptions, variant names, shipping and returns pages, and your FAQ. This matters because Wix and Squarespace give third party tools far less access to store data than a WordPress plugin gets. Zipchat's Wix integration page, for example, says its catalog answers work once the snippet is live, but looking up orders needs a separate connection to Wix Stores through Velo. For pre purchase selling, reading public pages is usually enough. Order tracking is a support job, and it needs a deeper integration.

Wix sellers should start by looking at what they already have. Wix Smart Chat is an app with AI Chat and Manual Chat modes. Three details from Wix's AI credits article matter for a store:

• The numbers are estimates. Each action costs credits based on the length and complexity of the request, and Wix says the count "is not guaranteed."
• The pool is shared. The same credits pay for Smart Chat, the AI Marketing Agent, AI Custom Agent, AI Phone Agent and Wixel, across your whole account.
• There are no top ups on Premium plans. When credits run out, the chat goes offline until your plan renews, unless you switch to Manual Chat. The only way to get more is to upgrade.

If your store gets a few chats a day, Smart Chat is the cheapest choice, because you already pay for it. The trade off shows up in busy weeks. A holiday promotion can use a month of credits in a few days, and then the chat goes quiet exactly when buyers are most active.

Squarespace's pricing page lists built in AI tools, AI credits and AI Visibility tracking, but no AI chat agent for visitors. Its Code Injection feature description names "live chat services" as a typical use, so on Squarespace, an AI sales agent means a third party script.

What each option costs in October 2026

Every model here is fair. They simply charge for different events: credits, conversations, replies or sales. The question is which event you would rather pay for.

The breakeven math

That last row is the one Wix sellers rarely calculate. Moving from about 300 to about 1,000 Smart Chat actions means paying $120 more each month on yearly billing, whether or not those chats sell anything.

3. Add the code. In your dashboard, open Settings, then Custom Code under Development and integrations, and click Add Custom Code. Paste the line, choose Body end, and load it on all pages.
4. Test the live site. Wix notes that since December 2025, some older snippets may be blocked until the provider updates them, so confirm the chat bubble appears on product pages and on mobile.
5. Write down your setup. Wix deletes custom code snippets if you change domains, so keep a copy of the line in case you need to add it again.

• Name each variant the way a shopper would say it.

How to check the sales a chat gets credit for

Wix and Squarespace analytics report where visitors came from, such as search, social or direct. A chat happens on your site, so it is not a traffic source, and an order that followed a chat will keep the source the visitor arrived from. Do not add the chat tool's number to your channel report.

Instead, take the orders a chat vendor credits for one week and find each one in your store's order list. Confirm it was paid and not refunded, and note how long after the chat it was placed. A short window credits fewer orders, but they are the orders a conversation most plausibly influenced.
